Situated on the Brennero road axis, Bolzano can be easily reached by car, train or coach. Also, the city boasts a small airport with flights from and to Rome operated by Air Alps. The closest low cost airports are the ones in Bergamo, Brescia, Innsbruck and Treviso. From there, there are coach connections to Bolzano.

f you are coming from the North, South Tyrol can easily and conveniently be reached via the motorway Stuttgart › Munich › Rosenheim › Innsbruck › Brennero › A 22 Brennero motorway › exit at Bolzano Nord or Bolzano Sud.

There are coach and shuttle services between Bolzano and several German cities as well as the low cost airports of Brescia, Bergamo and Treviso. More information on request. Bolzano's public transport system is very efficient and extensive, and a prepaid ticket is valid across the full range of services. Alternatively, the 'Mobilcards' for 3 or 7 days priced at €15 or €25 allow unlimited travel with all means of public transport in South Tyrol. 7-day-tickets valid in a specific area of your choice in South Tyrol, for instance in Bolzano and surroundings, cost €12.

Direct flights from Rome to Bolzano Dolomiti Airport are operated by Air Alps.
Car hire is available at all airports. Also, hotels can arrange airport transfers for their guests.
Furthermore, there is a shuttle service operated by Terravision between Bolzano and the following low cost airports: Milan Bergamo, Verona Catullo and Venice Treviso. Another company, Rauch Reisen, offers daily coach connections between South Tyrol and Munich City. There are regular coach (every 20 minutes) and train (every 10 minutes) connections from Munich central railway station to Munich Airport.
